like to stay in this hotel because it is a very good place to relax. The food in the Ayurveda restaurant is very good and tasty and also the treatments. The stuff is excellent and very friendly. I try to stay in this paradise once a year. Internet is not free in the rooms only in the lobby or in the bar

This property was recommended to me by a friend (as is often the case I believe) due to it's great treatments and the fact it is run with German efficiency. Both of which are true. A mid range resort with decent sized rooms and good balcony space which are perfect to relax especially after some of the treatments. I booked the 12 day Panchakarma package and stayed 14 nights on fullboard basis. The Panchakarma package includes regular meetings with the ayurvedic doctor, any medicines they prescribe (usually herbal) and a series of daily massages including head massage, shirodara, foot massage, body massage, etc, which change according to what stage in the programme you are in. I had great therapists and they were the same throughout my stay. I travelled alone which many people did and I felt very comfortable - staff are friendly. The only challenge I found was the fact that the whole hotel is marketed exclusively to the German speaking countries - so as a non-German speaker, I did feel a little excluded, especially from the lectures they do each evening - all of which are in German, the English one's seemed to be cancelled, welcome drinks, even down to the daily inspiration cards placed on the room doors - all of which was in German. Staff did all speak English very well so no problems there. Daily activities included yoga, tai chi, aqua aerobics, beach walks, etc which were very nice. Meals were on the whole very good. As I was on an ayurvedic programme, I dined in the respective restaurant for that purpose and enjoyed delicious soups, Sri Lankan curries and dishes of the day - usually grilled fish or chicken. Occasionally food was a little salty and once I fed this back it would be changed immediately. Some of the housekeeping staff where a little overfriendly - which was nice at first as they liked to chat but could be a bit intrusive / annoying when you wanted to relax after treatments - so the do not disturb sign was used quite a lot. On the whole a great stay and just what I needed at that time.

It is a very nice and tidy hotel with direct access to the beach and has a nice garden to enjoy the sun. I have stayed at Lanka Princess already twice and can highly recommend it as an authentic place for ayurveda. The food is excellent and staff is very friendly. It has to be mentioned, that Christmas is celebrated with a special menu, decoration and christmas music. It is a perfect place to detox and relax and I definitely come back.
Stayed December 2014, travelled with family

Stayed there in May 2015, and found the hotel to be lovely. We stayed there for 4 nights but most guests were there for the long haul (2-4 weeks), and were returnees. This hotel is definitely for people who don't mind silence. The only music [quietly played] was the live music sometimes played in the evening, incidentally with the best whistling I've heard ever, and when they do aqua aerobics which was strictly 30 mins of music every day then back to silence. The beach was nice but public, so you won't get any sunbeds on the beach, but it has beautiful fine golden sand, and you can see tiny little fishes in the shallow water. We went during the 'monsoon' period which initially concerned me but the weather was absolutely glorious every day. The sea was 29 degrees and pool was 30 degrees. There were some restaurants right by the hotel (two mins walk on the beach), but as we went all inclusive and was there for a limited time, we didn't try anywhere else. Through no fault of the hotel, we were considering moving hotels just because the all inclusive option didn't include alcohol in this hotel, and the manager came to speak to us and explained that he would do everything to made us happy whether that meant within or out of his hotel, so he spoke to my travel operator to help us. We decided to stay as the alcohol wasn't expensive and that showed us that the hotel had excellent customer service. Every member of staff we encountered was attentive and friendly, and very kind. Two restaurants were offered at the hotel, West and East as one member of staff put it. The Ayurveda restaurant was tasty curries and rice, grilled chicken / fish with salads. The other side was occasionally gourmet, and other times it was similar to the other restaurant. At breakfast when we made it in time, the chef was there to make whatever you wanted; I recommend the Lankan omelette. They did an afternoon tea session by the pool also which consisted of sandwiches, cake and tea. The room was lovely, not massive but perfect for two small people to stay in. Clean and made up every day, free soft drinks in the minibar that were restocked and great toiletries, we were happy with the service provided. To improve the hotel, I would recommend providing manned sunbeds on the beach, double beds in rooms rather than twin beds pushed together, posh food available more often and the pool bar should offer alcoholic drinks also. WIFI should be free everywhere. Dedicated area for those wanting a little noise on their holidays. Room service should be made available and food after dinner. I think that would have made it into a 4+/ 5 star though. Would certainly recommend this hotel for relaxation.
Room Tip: Twin rooms are same as double rooms, just beds pushed together. All inclusive doesn't include bar
