This was a gem of a hotel with lovely facilities including very large swimming pool.

It's in the busy crossroads town of Habarana, handy for important sites such as Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa.

I visited the hotel twice, great experience. Beautiful surrounding; my nature loving family, really enjoyed evening walks around the Hotel premises. If you’re a photographer, who’s interested in capturing birds and exploring the wild, try Cinnamon Habarana. With regards to the rooms, I’d say the hotel can do better than that.

A very nice and calm place to spend the day and night. But during the weekends they are over crowded. Food is very nice too. Staff is excellent and helpful in any way. They were very kind to my little kid and he was enjoying the stay. Also great place to spend the time by couples and newly weds. But I noticed under the beds were not cleaned for some time and I have notified the housekeeping as well and more over found some pills too which cloud have found by a kid and try allowing it could have make a disaster. And the stray dogs are a issue they sleep on the steps and every where they can find. Please do not let your kids go near them since not sure if they are vaccinated . Also watch out for monkeys.

I don't have time to expand so I'll keep it short: Go to the hotel, believe me you will not be sorry. An experience of a lifetime whether if in dining, relaxing in the pool, watching the huge variety of animals (even monkeys roaming around EVERYWHERE, stealing your sugar :) Go there, have a great time!

We arrived here at 7pm straight from an overnight international flight from the UK. Check in was efficient and we were into our 3 lovely deluxe rooms in no time. We were all delighted with our rooms, lots of space, lovely decor and huge balconies or verandas. We couldn't wait for the morning to see our surroundings in the light but our first evening buffet was delicious and we collapsed into bed weary but happy. We stayed 3 nights in all, taking in Minneriya on the afternoon of Day 1, Dambulla and Sigiriya on Day 2 and Pollonaruwa on the way to our East Coast stop on Day 3. The food was consistently very good, with lots of choice. Spicy curries were hot to my taste so I stuck to grilled fish and plainer dishes but others in our party got well acquainted with the delicious Sri Lankan cuisine, loving the spicy variety of food. Pudding as everyone else has said is an event which leaves you feeling very naughty like a kid in a sweet shop with all the choice. Delicious. The surroundings are stunning with lots of lovely trees and vines to wander amongst and so much wildlife to spot. It didn't feel threatening in any way, just amazing to be in amongst such amazing creatures. There were brightly coloured kingfishers flying between the trees round the beautiful swimming pool and hornbills too. The monkeys were great to watch playing around, and it was fun spotting lizards here and there. We enjoyed filming the cheeky chipmunks too. It was slightly disappointing that the famous lake had been drained - we'll just have to see it next time. The hotel was under occupied with very few rooms taken when we first arrived mid June (?low season), but the day we left, at the weekend, there was a huge influx of Sri Lankans on a work outing from Colombo with all their families, who had a great party on our last night. It was good to see the wonderful facilities being enjoyed and it really added to the atmosphere, we enjoyed the people-watching. You won't be disappointed with Cinnamon Lodge, we loved it all.
