What a lovely hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 3. Great cottages on huge green grounds by the lake that you can explore any time of the day or night. Lovely rooms, cottages actually. Very friendly staff, good food. We really enjoyed ourselves. Must stay on your way to Anuradhapura from Colombo.

Excellent high-end property, the lake is like a private watering hole! Go for the Signature Premier/Private Villas - huge, very spacious, the bathrooms were really cool (had to write that even though it sounds/reads weird) :) Great location, its a 15 min drive to the Dambulla Cave Temple/Golden Temple. The breakfast spread was massive with a good balance b/w local Sri Lankan and English favorites. Its an extensive property and you can walk or take the golf carts they provide. No Gym but 2 nice pools. Room Tip: Go for the Premier Villas, pick the ones that are on the 2nd floor as you have better scenic views...

This an isolated hotel were you were stuck if you didn't have your own transport. This means you were stuck with the food and drink at the hotel which was expensive and of average quality. The accommodation was in lodges in the grounds which could entail a long walk. A small price to be paid for the location which was superb. Staff were helpful and worked hard when it rained to get us to the restaurant dry racing around in buggies to pick everybody up. Rooms clean tidy with all necessary facilities. Room Tip: Try for room as close to the main building as possible See more room tips travelled as a couple

Great hotel to get away from the noise of everyday life. Staff were friendly and accommodating, with a special mention to chef Lal who went above and beyond his duties to ensure my family and I were content, and have everything we wanted food-wise. Rooms were comfortable and spacious, and the layout of the hotel was novel. Great little walk down to the lake too. Only negative would be that communication between staff could sometimes be lacking. Overall, a great hotel for exploring and relaxation. travelled with family
